Frequently asked questions

What is restorative dentistry?

Restorative dentistry is used to repair damaged teeth or replace one or more missing teeth in your smile. It covers a range of dental treatments designed to improve both your oral health and the way your teeth function. Restorative dentistry can also enhance your smile, but this is not the primary goal.

Are restorative dental treatments painful?

Restorative dental treatments are typically not painful. We use local anaesthetic to minimise any discomfort during your procedure, and make sure you are relaxed and ready before we begin. After your treatment, you may experience some pain as you recover, but this is temporary and can be managed with over-the-counter painkillers.

What are my options if I’ve got a missing tooth?

If you are missing a tooth, there are many restorative options that can help! You can fill the gap in your smile with a natural-looking dental bridge, or replace one or more missing teeth with a strong, secure and highly aesthetic dental implant. We are happy to discuss your options with you and help you decide on the best treatment for you.

How much do restorative treatments cost?

The cost for restorative dentistry can vary depending on your chosen treatment and the complexity of your case. We publish a guide to our prices on our fees page, and give you a bespoke quote based on your individual case after your initial consultation.

What is CEREC?
